Bulk Charcoal Supplier in the UAE: Grills, Tandoors and BBQ

Charcoal is one of those lines where the wrong grade ruins a service. Lump charcoal lights fast and sears hard but burns through; briquettes hold a steady heat for hours but need longer to get going; firewood is a different order altogether. Bait Al Diafa supplies commercial charcoal and firewood in business quantities to restaurants, grills, tandoor houses, barbecue joints and caterers across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE, from our warehouse in Al Sharq, Sharjah.

Tell us what you are cooking on and how much you go through, and we will match the grade and plan repeat deliveries around your service. Send us what you use or call us on +971 6 526 6504.

What we supply

  • Natural hardwood lump charcoal — the fast-lighting, hard-searing grade for grills, kebab houses, steaks and quick services.
  • Briquettes — the even, long-burning grade for slow cooking, tandoor use, buffets and any line that has to hold heat for a long service.
  • Firewood for wood-fired ovens and for laying a fire bed under a grill.
  • Grill and barbecue equipment alongside the fuel: commercial grills, charcoal and gas grills, and outdoor cooking equipment. See commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Fire and heat tools that go with a charcoal line: tongs, ash tools, lighters and grill brushes from our smallwares range.

See the charcoal category for the current range, and our commercial charcoal buying guide if you want the detail on how the grades behave.

Which grade to use

GradeHow it behavesSuits
Hardwood lumpQuick to light, very hot, less consistent over a long burnGrills, steaks, kebabs, quick high-heat service
BriquettesSlower to light, very even and long-lasting heatTandoors, slow cooking, buffets, long services
FirewoodBurning wood, for laying a fire and for wood-fired ovensFire beds, wood-fired ovens, tandoor bases

If you run two different kinds of menu — a grill line that wants lump, and a tandoor or slow line that wants briquettes — ask for both. They are bought on different cycles and it is common to run them separately.

Buying charcoal on a cycle, not in a crisis

  • Know your weekly burn. A grill that runs every night and a grill that runs at weekends need completely different deliveries. Tell us the days you trade and we will work out the rhythm with you.
  • Ask about standing deliveries. We plan repeat drops so charcoal arrives before you run out rather than when you have already turned grills off. Tell us your delivery days and your service times and we will work around them.
  • Store it right. Charcoal should be kept off the floor, under cover, and as dry as possible. Damp charcoal lights badly and smokes, and a wet store is the usual reason a good grade performs badly.
  • Keep it away from heat and ignition sources, and never store it in a way that blocks a fire exit or an escape route. It is a fuel, and it is treated as one.
  • Keep the right ash tool and gloves with the fuel, not in the pass. Soot and hot ash cause most of the burns behind a charcoal line.

Who buys charcoal from us

  • Grill houses and barbecue restaurants running a charcoal line every night.
  • Tandoor restaurants and kebab houses that need steady heat rather than a hard sear.

Frequently asked questions

Where do restaurants buy charcoal in Sharjah?

Bait Al Diafa supplies commercial charcoal and firewood in business quantities from its warehouse in Al Sharq, Sharjah, delivering into Dubai, Abu Dhabi and all seven emirates. Tell us what you cook on and how much you use, and we will match the grade.

What is the difference between lump charcoal and briquettes?

Lump charcoal lights quickly and gives a hard sear but burns through faster. Briquettes take longer to light and give a steadier, longer heat, which suits tandoors, slow cooking and long services.

Which charcoal is best for a tandoor?

A long-burning grade such as briquettes, because a tandoor needs a steady heat held for hours rather than a fast sear. Many kitchens run briquettes for the tandoor and lump charcoal on the grill line.

Do you deliver bulk charcoal to Dubai and Abu Dhabi?

Yes, from Sharjah into Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. Tell us your burn rate and the days you trade and we will plan repeat deliveries around your service times.

Can I get charcoal and firewood together?

Yes, firewood for laying a fire bed and for wood-fired ovens can go in the same order as charcoal. Tell us how you use it and we will work out the mix.

Do you supply charcoal for hotels and caterers?

Yes, along with the grill and outdoor cooking equipment and the fire tools a charcoal line needs. See our wholesale and trade supply service for standing orders.

Send us what you use

There is no need to work out exact quantities before you ask. Tell us the type of venue, how many grills or tandoors you run, how many days a week you trade, and roughly what a service burns — and we will size it with you and set up repeat deliveries.
