Common questions

Which cloth for which job
Microfibre lifts dust and grease with water alone and polishes glass and steel without streaks. Cotton glass cloths dry and polish glassware and cutlery. J-cloths are light wiping cloths for bars and counters, replaced often. Heavy floor cloths mop up spills by hand. Colour-coding the cloths by area keeps washroom cloths out of the kitchen.

How should microfibre be washed?
At up to 60 °C without fabric softener or bleach, which clog and weaken the fibres. Wash it apart from cotton so it does not pick up lint, and dry it fully before storing.

Why colour-code cleaning tools?
A different colour for toilets, washbasins, general areas and food areas stops germs moving between them. A common scheme is red for toilets, yellow for washbasins, blue for general areas and green for food areas.
