Common questions

Small dishes and sharing plates
Small dishes carry sauces, sides and tapas, and make a table look generous; ovenproof dishes go from oven to table. Matching dishes across a collection keeps a table consistent as the menu changes.

What is it used for?
Sauces, dips, butter, olives and amuse-bouche.

How is acrylic cleaned?
With warm soapy water and a soft cloth; abrasive pads and alcohol-based cleaners scratch or cloud it. Acrylic is for serving and display, not hot food or the microwave.

Can it go in the oven?
Only if the maker lists it as oven-safe; porcelain oven dishes should warm up gradually.

How should they be stored?
Stack like with like at a manageable height and use racks in the dishwasher, so rims do not chip.
