Common questions

Bakeware
Heavy-gauge tins bake evenly and resist warping; non-stick and silicone release easily; loose bases and springforms help with delicate cakes. Grease and line tins as the recipe needs.

How do I stop cakes sticking?
Grease and flour or line with baking paper; silicone moulds need only a light grease the first few times.

Why silicone?
It is heat-resistant, flexible and will not scratch non-stick surfaces; keep it away from open flame and check the maker's temperature rating.

What are its care and use ratings?
The maker lists it as dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe, freezer-safe, BPA-free and non-stick.

What temperature can it take?
The maker rates it up to 230 °C.
