Common questions

Insect killers
UV insect killers attract flying insects to a glue board or an electric grid, keeping flies out of kitchens, stores and serving areas, which food-safety inspections check.

Where should it go?
Away from open food and prep surfaces, near entrances and where insects come in, and out of competing bright light.

Glue board or grid?
Glue boards hold insects silently and suit food areas; electric grids suit back-of-house and outdoor areas away from food.

How is it maintained?
Change glue boards as they fill and the UV tubes as the maker advises, usually once a year.
