Common questions

Manual brewers: pour-over, immersion and pressure
Cone drippers such as V60 and Origami brew bright, clear cups; flat-bottom drippers such as Kalita Wave give an even extraction; immersion brewers like the Clever and French press give body. A kettle with a gooseneck and a scale make pour-overs repeatable.

What grind and ratio should I start with?
A medium-fine grind and about 1 g of coffee to 15–16 g of water, then adjust grind to taste: finer for more strength, coarser if it tastes bitter.

Which filters does it take?
The matching filter size or shape for the brewer; see our filter papers.

How is it cleaned?
Rinse after each brew and wash with warm water; descale ceramic and glass occasionally in hard UAE water.
