Complete your Dia de los Muertos celebrations by incorporating this Fiesta® Dinnerware from Steelite International HL147541590 Skull and Vine Foundry 15 oz. tapered mug into your authentic Day of the Dead-inspired menu selection. This tapered mug features a painstakingly-detailed image of a sugar skull, surrounded by swirling leaf and vine detailing. Its mystical design reflects the folk art style of southern Mexico, dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Abundant in sugar production, but too poor to buy European decorations for religious ceremonies, this region adapted sugar art as a way to celebrate the memories of loved ones. Each sugar skull serves as a way to honor the dead and show respect for family members who have passed. This tapered mug keeps the tradition alive, depicting that iconic sugar skull image on an easy-to-clean china mug. Mix and match with items in the Hall Foundry collection to complete your table settings. This tapered mug features a bold metallic pattern set against a matte black, foundry cast-iron-like finish. The intricate pattern, inspired by symbols of the Day of the Dead holiday, helps to create a dark and mysterious aura, while bringing plenty of attention to the table. Use it in any application, from farm-to-table to urban, Latin to American, coffee-house chic to late-night hip. The Skull and Vine collection serves to heighten appetites and encourage culinary creativity no matter where it's used.
