Cotton, microfibre, flat or dust control?
Cotton mops hold the most water and suit big spills, rough floors and kitchens. Microfibre lifts fine dirt and bacteria with less water and chemical and leaves floors drier. How is the mop head washed?
Rinse after each use, then launder hot; cotton can take a hot wash, microfibre up to 60 °C without softener. Dry it fully so it does not smell.

A different colour for toilets, washbasins, general areas and food areas stops germs moving between them. A common scheme is red for toilets, yellow for washbasins, blue for general areas and green for food areas.

When should it be replaced?
When it stays grey after washing, sheds fibres or keeps a smell; in daily commercial use that is usually every few months.
