Common questions
Choosing a commercial vacuum
Dry vacuums suit carpets and offices; wet-and-dry machines also pick up spills, water and slurry in kitchens, workshops and car parks. Backpack vacuums are fastest on stairs, cinemas, aircraft and offices; battery models work where cables are a trip risk. Bigger tanks mean fewer trips to empty; twin motors give more suction.
Can it pick up water?
Yes, it handles wet and dry pick-up; follow the manual on filters for wet use and empty the tank before it is full.
Which tank size?
15 to 30 litres for rooms and offices; 60 to 90 litres for workshops, car parks and heavy wet pick-up.
How is it maintained?
Follow the maker's manual: keep filters, hoses and brushes clean, check cables and seals before use, and have it serviced at the intervals it sets.
